Pentillie Castle and Estate
Pentillie Castle is an impressive country house set in the idyllic countryside on the Cornish banks of the River Tamar, just 20 minutes from Plymouth.
Since sensitively modernising the Castle in 2009, the Coryton family have put a huge amount of effort into restoring its beautiful gardens, which are now a visitor attraction in their own right. They’ve been featured in a Daily Telegraph article on the five Best Spring Gardens, as well as being likened to Cornwall’s famous Lost Gardens of Heligan, which are not far away. The gardens are open on selected days during the spring and year-round to Friends of Pentillie members.
At Pentillie, we also hosts various other events throughout the year, including delicious Afternoon Teas, Outdoor Theatres, Charity Coffee Mornings and Carols in the Courtyard.

The Castle is available to exclusively hire for bespoke weddings, memorable holidays, special celebrations and private retreats. With 11 award-winning and individually styled bedrooms, an outdoor heated swimming pool, numerous reception rooms, games room, large farmhouse style AGA kitchen and acres of open space, it is a truly inspirational place to stay. The extensive facilities also allow for additional activities available around the estate. Why not try paddle boarding on the River Tamar, experience an off-road adventure around the grounds or enjoy a relaxing yoga class on The Old Tennis Lawn. Pentillie offers perfect locations for a romantic elopement, a small gathering for up to 60 (with up to 60 additional evening guests) or a larger celebration for up to 200, with the use of a marquee.
You can choose to both marry and celebrate on the estate, with a host of stunning indoor and outdoor licensed ceremony locations. Choose from the Castle’s grand interior, or one of out picturesque garden settings to say 'I Do' before commencing your wedding celebrations.
